Your immune system kicks in

Apparently to save your life.

What you don't know

What you'd never think of

Is that your immune system needs you to survive.

It's selfish

In a beneficial way

Helping you to recover.

But for this reason, it protects you.

It nourishes you.

It nurses you back to health.

Your friends draw near to you

Apparently to comfort you.
